Chicago Fire has had no shortage of drama in season 10. The most unexpected source of drama, however, has come from Gallo (Alberto Rosende) and Violet (Hanako Greensmith). The exes have been subject to multiple ups and downs stemming from their complicated romantic feelings.
This has been especially notable with the addition of Chief Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas), who has made it clear he’s in love with Violet. Gallo has backed off, and tried his best to become a loyal friend, but Chicago Fire showrunners have suggested that there’s still plenty more to explore.
Here’s what you need to know about Gallo and Violet in season 10.
Do Violet and Gallo get back together on Chicago Fire?
During a recent interview with TV Line, showrunners Derek Haas and Andrea Newman spoke on the current state of the Gallo/Violet/Hawkins love triangle, and how Gallo has a better chance at winning Violet back than he realizes.
"“Gallo has been sidelined a bit in the friend role”, Newman explained. “And that’s going to get a little shaken up in the last couple of episodes, because he’s really going to step up for Violet in unexpected ways and that’ll kind of bring him back into this triangle and make the triangle even more complicated than it already was.”"
This makes sense, given the recent pivot Gallo has made from jealous ex-lover to supportive friend. He tried to protect Violet and Hawkins from getting in trouble with the higher-ups, and went as far as to defend them from other employees, despite his romantic feelings.

The increased interest in Gallo also suggests that Hawkins may be headed for some mistakes, or actions that rub Violet the wrong way. The character has been pretty upstanding so far, and Haas has even teased a “hot scene” between him and Violet in the next few episodes, but there’s bound to be problems if Violet starts reconsidering her feelings towards Gallo.
If these hints weren’t enough, the showrunners teased the presence of Jacobs (Caitlin Carver), who has tense dynamics with both Gallo and Violet, and who’s promised to bring “plenty of trouble and upheaval” to the season 10 finale. We can’t wait to see how Gallo and Violet navigate these issues, and whether the resolution of one has to do with the other. After all, solving a crisis can do be just the thing to bring them back together.
