Good Sam, starring Chicago PD’s Sophia Bush, cancelled
Sophia Bush will always be Erin Lindsay in our hearts. She was a vital part of Chicago PD during its early years, and her departure remains one of the most painful in the entire One Chicago franchise. Unfortunately, Bush’s latest TV venture has been cancelled.
Good Sam, which premiered on CBS in January, has been cancelled after one season. The medical drama was axed by the network, along with a host of other shows, due to low ratings. According to TV Line, Good Sam has been averaging under 4 million total viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, which placed it last in both categories for the network.
Good Sam cancelled by CBS after one season
Bush played the titular Sam, a heart surgeon renowned for her genius intellect. She becomes the chief of surgery after her boss/father Griff (Jason Isaacs) fell into a coma, and the bulk of the show focused on their familial squabbles once Griff recovered.
The chemistry between Bush and Isaacs was fun, and many critics cited the former’s performance as one of the best aspects of the show. Sadly, ratings speak louder than words, and the plug was pulled before a second season was green-lit.

Other cancelled CBS programs include the Chuck Lorre comedy United States of Al, as well as B Positive and the reboot of Magnum P.I. All three shows were at different stages of production, with Magnum P.I. being the only one to cross 4 seasons.
All that said, Bush is busy as ever. The actress had a guest role on This Is Us and a recurring role in the acclaimed series Love, Victor. She’s also appeared in the films Hard Luck Love Song (2020) and False Positive (2021), the latter of which co-starred Justin Theroux and Pierce Brosnan.
