Chicago Fire: Taylor Kinney teases Stellaride’s future

Stellaride is the couple we all want to know about heading into the Chicago Fire finale. The pairing of Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) has been the main focus of the show in season 10, and all signs point to them dominating the final episode.

While there’s been some debate about whether the couple will go through with their plans to get married, or will fall back on previously established issues, all fans can agree that Taylor Kinney is crucial to what makes the show work.

Here’s what the actor had to say about the upcoming finale.

Will Severide return for Chicago Fire season 11?

Much has been made of the fact that Stellaride’s wedding won’t go according to plan, and Kinney told Us Weekly that shooting the finale followed a similarly hectic rollout. He explained that a last minute change was needed due to the original shooting location being unavailable.

"“We were [originally supposed] to shoot on a location at Navy Pier in Chicago, and we just had a wild day. It was gusty, windy, freezing”, he revealed. “We changed locations and we did it on the river in Chicago and the backdrop is amazing. It was a beautiful day.”"

The cliffhangers and plot twists have already been teased by showrunners Derek Haas and Andrea Newman, but Kinney chimed in with his two cents, claiming to feel confident that fans will love the direction the show decided to go in.

When it came to discussing the plans for both his character and Stella, Kinney said that he’s also excited for fans to experience the finale once it airs. “I hope they get as much out of it watching as we did shooting it. It was a blast. We had a lot of fun.”

The actor voiced similar excitement when it came time to discuss season 11, though he played coy about the possibility of Stellaride having kids. The biggest clue we get here is that Kinney, without a doubt, will be back in action next year.
