Chicago Fire boss warns SPOILER isn’t coming back anytime soon

There have been a lot of characters to come and go over the years across Chicago Fire‘s ten seasons, but no departure has managed to keep fans talking quite as long as the departure of Monica Raymund.
Across the show’s first six seasons, Raymund starred as paramedic turned firefighter Gabriela “Gabby” Dawson, a character who played a crucial role in the show’s early seasons. Gabby was often at the heart of the season’s biggest stories and was one-half of the show’s most iconic couples.
When Raymund exited the series following season 6, fans were crushed but at least they were provided with some closure when she returned for the season 7 premiere to help give the character a proper sendoff. And just one season later, Raymund returned once again with a guest appearance in season 8’s “Best Friend Magic,” in an episode that once again pushed her story ahead and time up loose ends through the brief appearance.
Recent years, however, haven’t been as kind to Gabby fans. Not since season 8 have we seen Raymund make her way back to Chicago Fire and it seems the wait is going to continue as it doesn’t appear there are plans to bring her back anytime soon.
Chicago Fire boss gives update on Monica Raymund return
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Chicago Fire showrunner Derek Haas candidly discussed the possibility of Monica Raymund returning to reprise her role as Gabby Dawson… and things aren’t looking good for those hoping to see Gabby back in the Windy City.
“She’s not coming back anytime soon,” Haas revealed, shutting down the idea of Raymund returning for yet another guest appearance on the series.

While there does not appear to be any plans to bring Raymund back into the fold anytime soon, Raymund herself revealed just last year that she’ll “never close the door on Gabriela Dawson” and would be open to returning should the opportunity arise.
So although Haas seems to have no plans to bring Gabby back at the moment, there is always a chance that could change and we could see Raymund drop by for another quick visit.
