Chicago Med season 8 premiere date confirmed
Chicago Med gave fans one hell of a cliffhanger in season 7. While the other One Chicago shows were content to wrap up their stories, Med decided to leave things uncertain, as doctors Scott (Guy Lockard) and Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) were left to fight for their lives in a burning building.
Needless to say, the season 8 premiere is going to have lots of eyes on it. We all want to see how if the characters escape, and how they do so. We also want to see how the incident will affect the characters moving forward.
Thankfully, Chicago Med is returning sooner than any of us would have thought.
When will Chicago PD season 10 premiere on NBC?
Per Deadline, Med will be making its season 8 premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 21. It will be the lead in for Chicago Fire and PD, which will debut their respective seasons right after. The premiere date is on par with Med‘s season 7 debut, which aired on Sept. 22, but its much sooner than the season 6 debut, which didn’t air until Nov. 11.
The medical drama has gone back and forth between these different months when it comes to premieres. There’s rarely a reason given for the alternating schedule, but COVID protocols and episode count do likely play a role.

There haven’t been any major revelations regarding storylines, as the writing time are still getting material together. Med hasn’t started production on season 8, which is believed to get underway in July 2022. This means that spoilers and interviews from cast/crew won’t roll out until closer to the premiere, which is fairly standard.
The season 8 premiere will have lots of material to play with. In addition to the cliffhanger involving Scott and Halstead, there’s the fate of Dr. Pamela Blake (Sarah Rafferty), who tried to remedy the increasing numbness in her hands and wound up suffering a mini-stroke as a result of the surgery. Her future with Gaffney Medical Center and Marcel (Dominic Raines) is up in the air at the moment.
