Justin Voight (Josh Segarra) was a tortured soul on Chicago PD. In addition to the fractured relationship he had with his dad, Hank Voight (Jason Beghe), he served prison time and was involved in a murder investigation.

Hank Voight will always be the centerpiece of the show, so it would make sense that the people in his family would continue to recur throughout. Justin is the family member we’ve seen him get the closest to, so a reunion on paper makes sense.

Well, it should at least.

Did Justin Voight die on Chicago PD?

Unfortunately, Justin Voight was killed off during the season 3 finale. He was tied up in the back of a truck and shot in the head, and while he survived the initial injury, he was eventually pronounced dead at the hospital. Hank Voight, understandably traumatized by the death, went on the war path and murdered Kevin Bingham (Joseph Sikora), the man who shot Justin.

Justin Voight will not be appearing in Chicago PD season 10. The character has not been brought up in several seasons, and while it’s technically possible for Josh Segarra to reprise his role in a flashback, it’s unlikely. PD is not prone to flashbacks, and if they decided to go down that path, Justin would not be at the top of the list when it comes to fallen characters.

Another reason Justin Voight won’t be returning in Segarra’s busy schedule. The actor has been everywhere in the last decade, from Orange is the New Black and The Good Cop to Arrow and The Other Two. He’s also slated to appear in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe show She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

There’s also an interesting overlap in terms of One Chicago continuity. Despite being known as the younger Voight on Chicago PD, Segarra played Nestor Vertiz in five episodes of FBI, which is set in the same universe.

This isn’t the first time an actor has been cast in different roles in a Dick Wolf productions, but it does suggest that Segarra isn’t planning on reprising Justin Voight anytime soon.
