It’s no secret that Dick Wolf Productions likes using the same actors. There have been dozens of people who have made small appearances on a show like Chicago PD, only to go on and have a starring role in another.

The latest person to join these special ranks is Molly Burnett. It was recently announced that she would be cast as a grizzled detective in the upcoming season of Law and Order, but One Chicago fans likely know her by another name.

Who does Molly Burnett play on Chicago PD?

Burnett played the character of Raquel Landry on the Chicago PD episode “Fool’s Gold”. As Landry, the wife of a wealthy businessman who was attacked in his home, the actress played a character who knew more than she was letting on.

It was eventually determined that Landry was at the whim of a dangerous ex-boyfriend named Sam, who forced her to give him access to the home. Landry, despite being suspected as an accomplice, was cleared of all charges.

What makes Burnett’s appearance on the show noteworthy is that it didn’t take place years ago, when she was starting out. The episode aired in 2022! It was one of the highlights of season 8, which makes the turnaround casting of her on Law and Order all the more surprising.

We’ve already seen crossover events between Chicago PD and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, so it’s not a stretch to assume that we could get a crossover between PD and the flagship Dick Wolf show.

It would be fun to see the different characters cross paths, even if Voight (Jason Beghe) and the rest of the IU will likely ignore how much Burnett’s detective look like a former suspect.
