Which Stranger Things actors appeared on One Chicago?
Stranger Things is a juggernaut in the current TV landscape. It’s the most popular show on the planet, with hordes of fans speculating about its cast and potential outcome. What some fans might not know, however, is that a few ST cast members got their start on One Chicago.
That’s right, we’ve been able to dig up ties between characters in the Stranger Things-verse and pivotal, albeit briefly seen, characters on One Chicago. Who are they? Well, let’s do some digging.
Joe Keery
The first, and most notable, is Joe Keery. The actor known to the world as Steve Kerrington made one his earliest acting appearances in a pair of Chicago Fire episodes, “Forgive You Anything” and “Red Rag the Bull” (both 2015).
Keery played Emmett, a teenager who comes into town looking for his biological father. He thinks that Mouch (Christian Stolte) is a prime candidate due to some vague info obtained from a sperm donor.
Mouch initially tries to duck Emmett, but the former tracks him down and confronts him. The vet eventually realizes that Emmett isn’t his son, but the half-brother of his biological daughter Lizzie. The story arc ends with Emmett and Lizzie meeting for the first time.
Ira Amyx
Ira Amyx may not be a household name for either Stranger Things or One Chicago fans, but he has the distinction of having appeared in both. He played Agent Harmon in Stranger Things season 4, and went out in memorable fashion by taking down several in a gunfight.
Before he went out in a blaze of glory, the actor appeared in Chicago Med. He played a patient who suffers from epilepsy in the episode “Reality Leaves a Lot to the Imagination” (2022).
Aaron Munoz
Another little-known actor who has the distinction of being on two beloved shows. Munoz played a brief but memorable part as Mr. Holland during the first season of Stranger Things. He has not come back since, but he has popped up as Kevin Klinginpill on a pair of Chicago Fire episodes in 2019.
Ed Amutrado
Ed Amutrado closes out the portal between Stranger Things and One Chicago by being the last man to appear on both. He played Director Hatch on a single episode of Stranger Things 4, but before that he appeared as a character named Roger Norwood on a 2018 episode of Chicago Fire. Amutrado is also set to appear in the upcoming show The Consultant.
