SPOILER gets hospitalized in new Chicago Med photos
Chicago Med is no stranger to emergency situations, literally and figuratively. The characters who work at Gaffney have to help people in critical condition, while at the same time navigating drama in their own lives.
Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) knows this better than most. She struggled mightily during her initial run on the show, and was ultimately forced to leave the hospital due to her substance abuse problems. Fortunately, she’s now clean and ready to make a positive difference.
Despite her new outlook, though, Asher is not immune to freak accidents. Find out what the future has in store for her with these new season 8 photos.
Is Hannah Asher returning to Chicago Med?
NBC has made it clear that Asher is going to be front-and-center in the season 8 drama by putting her, well front-and-center on the promotional poster. It makes sense, given her dynamic with Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and her checkered past, but it also means she’s going to go through way more than a supporting character.

Case in point, Asher is rushed into Gaffney at one point during the season premiere. Halstead and Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) attempt to comfort her, but the promo photo makes it clear that she’s far from okay.
NBC has also revealed that Asher is laid up in a hospital bed, though it’s unclear what the cause of her issue is. We can infer that it’s something psychological. Maybe Asher has a panic attack or is overworked to a point of exhaustion.
That said, the photo of her in bed reveals some black marks on her forehead, which could mean she was involved in a physical accident. The two photos are incongruent in terms of what they suggest, outside of Asher having a difficult week on the job.
What do you think is going to happen to Asher? Do you think it will persist throughout season 8?
