Chicago Med season 8 photos confirm SPOILER’s fate
One Chicago is known for its cliffhanger endings, but surprisingly, one of the of the franchise’s three shows followed through with a nail-biting conclusion: Chicago Med. The medical drama taunted fans by sticking Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) and Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard) in a burning building with seemingly no escape.
Fortunately, the promo photos that NBC has released for season 8 has shed some light (and hope) on the fates of both men, and hinted at what they may be up to as the new season gets underway.
We’ve already gotten confirmation that Dr. Halstead makes it out of the building in one piece, thanks to photos that show him back at Gaffney Medical Center and interacting with the rest of the staff. The big question with the initial batch is whether Dr. Scott would also make it out or fall victim to a more serious fate.

Thankfully, Scott is in the clear. New season 8 photos have put an end to the speculation, as the good doctor is more active than ever. Some of these photos even show Halstead and Scott having a shared moment on the floor, perhaps with them reflecting on the intensity of their near-death experience.
We also get to see Scott working alongside Dr. Archer (Steven Weber) and Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) in what looks to be a tense exchange. We all know that Archer can be a tough presence to navigate, especially when he disagrees with his peers, but it looks like there’s a strong difference of opinion between Archer’s stance and Scott’s.
Given that we didn’t get too many of these kinds of interactions during season 7, it’ll be exciting to see how the two characters handle their respectively tense situations.
Admittedly, the odds were slim that Dr. Scott was going to be killed off in the season 8 premiere, but it’s still reassuring to know that he will continue to play a central role in the show, and perhaps even in the One Chicago crossover event that’s been sporadically teased for 2022.
