When is Chicago PD coming back?
When is Chicago PD coming back? It may look like a simple question on the surface, but given all the chaos that’s ensued over the past few months, it’s a valid one. The procedural drama has been subject to casting changes, newcomers, and a potential time slot change, depending on what NBC decides to do in 2023.
The time slot change is particularly confusing. Since PD is the last of the One Chicago titles to air on Wednesday nights, it could be subject to change if NBC chooses to axe it’s 10 p.m. time slot and move into the evening news.
If this happens, then Chicago PD will be forced to be moved up in the Wednesday schedule or to a different night entirely. There’s also the possibility that it could be swapped with Chicago Med, in the event that the medical drama gets the boot to another night.
When does Chicago PD return?
So what’s the deal with season 10? Since there’s been all this talk about time slots and weeknight changes, when can you expect to get the season premiere?
Fortunately, the answer is simpler than you might think. While all these variables are up in the air, they won’t come into play until the beginning of 2023, if at all, which means that PD will premiere at its usual time slot of 10 p.m. EST on Wednesday nights.

The synopsis for the premiere, titled, “Let It Bleed,” reads as follows:
"“Still reeling from the death of informant Anna, Voight faces a new threat as he tries to keep the neighborhood clean; new wrinkles develop in the Upton, Halstead and Voight dynamic; the team gets a new chief.”"
