Chicago Med season 8 premiere spoilers: What to expect in S8E1

One Chicago Wednesdays are finally back! After another long summer, NBC’s One Chicago dramas finally make their way back to the primetime lineup this Wednesday with the first episodes of the new season.

When we last left off on Chicago Med, Will and Dylan found their lives in jeopardy after Will’s apartment building went up in flames. Elsewhere, Pamela’s future as a doctor was left up in the air after a decision Crockett made during her surgery may have taken her ability to operate.

As the new season begins, we should finally get confirmation on whether anyone didn’t make it out of the apartment fire alive and whether we’ve seen the last of Pamela — whose fate has been up in the air ever since the season finale aired last May.

As expected, the synopsis for the Chicago Med season 8 premiere leans heavily into the season 7 finale’s big cliffhanger by teasing several doctors at Med diving in to help the fire’s survivors. Elsewhere in the episode, it seems Dylan will be facing a life-changing decision while Charles will be breaking in a new fellow.

Just what can you expect from the season 8 premiere? Here is how NBC describes the season 8 opener:

"In the aftermath of Will’s apartment fire, Crockett, Ethan and Archer work together to try and save the survivors. Charles and Med’s new fellow, Nellie, helps a paranoid patient. Dylan makes a life-changing decision."
