Chicago Fire star celebrates wedding: ‘Some weekends are just better than others’

Love continues to be in the air for the cast of Chicago Fire. Less than two weeks after star Kylie Estevez announced her engagement, a former cast member is celebrating walking down the aisle and tying the knot in a weekend ceremony.
Taking to Instagram, Jon Ecker, who played fan favorite Greg Grainger in season 9 of NBC’s hit series, celebrated his recent nuptials in a sweet Instagram post. “Some weekends are just better than others,” captioned Ecker in a new Instagram post showcasing a beautiful shot from his wedding.
In the photo, which you can check out here, Ecker is all smiles as he embraces his wife Laura James who looks truly stunning in her elegant and classic wedding gown from Liz Martinez Bridal. The pair tied the knot last weekend in a ceremony held on the couple’s Tenessee property.
Will Jon Ecker ever come back to Chicago Fire?
In celebrating Ecker, one can’t help but wonder what could be next for the newlywed professionally and whether the actor could look to book a return to the Windy City.
At this time, there have been no reports of Ecker returning to reprise his role as Greg Grainger and it seems unlikely we’d see him return in the near future.

That said, the writers did leave the door open for Ecker to return as his character was not killed off and remains within the CFD. Given Brett is no longer connected to Casey, perhaps a return for Grainger could be in the cards if the writers were to look to revisit the pair’s romantic pairing.
