Chicago Fire teases new love interest for Sam Carver
Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) is still a bit of an enigma on Chicago Fire. He’s proven to be a good member in the field, but disdain that Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) has for him has made it tough to get a feel on his personality.
The rest of the 51 seems to feel the same way. The synopsis for the episode “All-Out Mystery” reveals that Mouch (Christian Stolte), Herrmann (David Eigenberg) and Gallo (Alberto Rosende) attempt to get closer with Carver, since it seems as though he’s here to stay.
The promotional photos for the episode suggest that we will be getting plenty of Carver time, and maybe even a love interest too.
Who is Carver’s girlfriend on Chicago Fire?
The aforementioned photos show Carver squaring off with someone at Molly’s, while Herrmann and the rest of the gang look on with concern. It’ll be interesting to see whether the “someone” in question is a person from Carver’s past or merely a guy who picked a fight with the wrong guy.
The more intriguing photo, however, shows Carver talking to a mystery woman at the bar. The woman is not listed in the credits, but based on Carver’s smile, it looks like there might be a romantic spark between them.

This supports an interview that Lockett recently had with NBC. He told the network that fans will be getting more and more of his character as the season wears on, and hinted that romance will be one of the ways that they will get to know him.
"“I don’t know [about a love interest] currently”, the actor stated. “It makes sense that there would be, and I hope there is. I think that’s always a fun piece to have with a character and explore. So, I hope so.”"
Even if the woman in question turns out to be a flash-in-the-pan romance, she will help to flesh out Carver as a character. He’s slowly chipping away at Kidd’s tough exterior, and pretty soon, they may even get along on the job. Either way, we’re excited to see where his character arc goes.
