Chicago Med spoilers: 806 synopsis, trailer and first-look photos

Get ready for Chicago Med season 8 episode 6, “Mama Said There Would Be Days Like This” with our episode 6 preview.

After taking a week off, Chicago Med returns this Wednesday with a fresh new episode that is about to see one member of the Med team facing a new challenge that nothing in medical school could have ever prepared him for.

As one doc juggles newfound fame, tension will be rising between two members of the Med team who begin clashing over how to best treat a patient. Elsewhere, expect to see three unexpected doctors coming together to help with the treatment of a first-time mom who is feeling the pressure of welcoming a new baby into the world.

Chicago Med season 8 episode 6 synopsis

After his heroic actions and inventive techniques used to save a man’s life, Crockett is about to find himself in the spotlight which will create a wave of unexpected challenges for Med’s top doc.

Speaking of challenges, expect to see Maggie and Vanessa butting heads this week as they disagree on the approach to a patient eager to get back to work regardless of what it could mean for their health.

Here’s how NBC officially describes season 8 episode 6:

"Crockett adjusts to his newfound fame when he helps Will treat a local restaurant owner. Ethan, Charles and Goodwin aid a new mother worried about hurting her baby. Maggie and Vanessa clash with a patient eager to get back to work."

As hinted at in the synopsis for episode 6, “Mama Said There Would Be Days Like This” will see Crockett tested in new ways as his fame begins to create trouble at Med.

Via the first-look promo for the episode, we can see that Crockett is called away to treat another patient who has requested him directly while in surgery on another patient. It seems Crockett steps away before the surgery is complete and when his patient faces complications tensions run when Will calls him out for the decision.

You might also notice the promo for the episode offers up our first look at Dr. Shentu’s return!
