One Chicago star teases return: ‘I’m in touch with the producers’

Could a familiar face be returning to one of the One Chicago franchises in the new year? One actor from Chicago Med has many fans asking whether we could end up seeing their character return sometime in the future.
During a recent AMA on Instagram, Guy Lockard weighed in on fans’ desires to see his return as Dr. Dylan Scott — a role he stepped away from in the season 8 premiere earlier this year. When addressing the questions about his possible return to the show, Lockard revealed refused to rule out a possible return.
“We’ll see,” Lockard replied in response to the fan questions asking whether Dylan will return to Chicago Med. Not only did he seem to hint that he’d be open to a return, but Lockard also revealed that he’s been in touch with the producers and maintains a strong relationship with the creative team.
"“I’m in touch with the producers and love them so much, man. They spoiled me like you wouldn’t believe and we have an incredible relationship.”"
Is Guy Lockard returning as Dylan on Chicago Med?
Although Lockard has revealed he’s in touch with the producers and open to returning to the role of Dr. Dylan Scott, he seemed to rule out an immediate return.
While Lockard reassured fans Dylan ain’t dead yet and could very well return, he made it clear that the decision to step away was in part due to his desire to pursue other projects — which the producers were gracious enough to give him space for.

"“I have a lot of stuff I want to do and [the producers] give me the space to do it,” Lockard commented, hinting there are other projects he’d like to explore before returning to Med."
Considering Lockard only just left the show at the beginning of season 8, it seems unlikely we’ll see him back this season. However, we’ve learned to never say never so there is always a chance the powers-that-be could find a way to bring Dylan back at the end of the season.
