Chicago Med has seen a lot of personal turmoil in season 8, so it’s a relief to know happiness is right around the corner for April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) and Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). The couple are tying the knot after reconciling and getting back together, and both are set to exit the show right after.

It’s been a thrilling ride to watch them reconnect, especially given the messiness of their break up, and it’s been especially nice to see things go right for Ethan, who has struggled through personal injuries and the death of his father in the past few seasons.

The big question, of course, is when the big wedding is supposed to take place…

When will April and Ethan get married?

There’s a conflicted element to wanting to wedding episode to arrive ASAP, because it means that we will have to say goodbye to April and Ethan sooner. That said, the show has done a great job of building things up to a fever pitch without making April’s reintroduction feel forced and/or rushed.

People has confirmed that the April and Ethan wedding will be the focus of the mid-season finale, which is scheduled to air on Wednesday, December 7. It will also be the final Med episode to air in 2022, with the show slated to return in January.

Chicago Med showrunners Andrew Schneider and Diane Frolov shed some light on the wedding and we can expect during their People interview. “We felt [the wedding] gave closure and a happy ending to the Ethan-April love story”, Frolov explained. “It also felt like a compelling next chapter in his life as a doctor.”

As was previously reported, April and Ethan will open a mobile clinic so they can take their training and bring it to the Chicago neighborhoods and citizens who need it the most. It’s a heartwarming direction for both characters to go in, and it confirms that they will stick around in the Windy City.

Is there hope for future appearances on Med? Schneider hasn’t ruled out the possibility. We will keep our fingers crossed.
