3 Chicago Med characters who probably won’t be back in season 8

None of the One Chicago titles have had cast turnover like Chicago Med. The medical drama has burned through several characters in the last season alone, whether it be through tragic means, practical (see: offscreen) reasons, or simply a decision to take things in a different direction.

The result has been a season that’s been exciting as it is unpredictable. There are so many Med characters who have passed through that it’s worth contemplating which of them are going to return down the line and which are gone for good.

As such, we assembled this little rundown of Med characters who are least likely to pop up in season 8.

Is Dylan Scott in Chicago Med season 8?

Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard) had such a promising career ahead of him at Gaffney Medical Center. He was introduced at the top of season 7, yet professional tragedy led the character to leave Gaffney during the season 8 premiere.

Many fans (understandably) thought that Scott would stick around for a while, given his natural charisma and the chemistry he had with the rest of the cast. It’s still unclear whether the writers always intended to write him off so early, but as it stands, we aren’t expect to see Scott in the ER anytime soon.

Is Pamela Blake in Chicago Med season 8?

Pamela Blake (Sarah Rafferty) was, like Scott, a character who made a sizable impression when she debuted in season 7. She was initially posed as a foe for Marcel (Dominic Rains), but the more they got to know each other, the closer they got. Their tense dynamic eventually led to romance.

Sadly, Blake developed a physical ailment that affected her ability to perform surgery. She agreed to undergo surgery herself in an attempt to remedy it, but it proved unsuccessful, and her career was tragically cut short. She was forced to leave Gaffney in the aftermath.

Blake is definitely one who would be intriguing to see again, especially given her past with Marcel, but it feels like Med is going to take its time with this one, and if we see her again, it will be beyond season 8.

Is Natalie Manning in Chicago Med season 8?

Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) kickstarted the great Chicago Med turnover of the past few years when she left during the season 7 premiere. It was difficult to see her go, but ultimately, it was a wise choice for someone who had crossed some of Gaffney’s ethical standards.

Manning’s romantic history with Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) leaves the door open for a potential reunion, but given how much Will has bonded with Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) over the course of the year, it would be narratively messy to do it soon. Our prediction? No Manning in season 8.
