NBC’s One Chicago series may have only just returned, but an extended break is now ahead for Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD.

After taking a few weeks off for special holiday programming, the One Chicago shows returned on Wednesday, Dec. 7 with a batch of new episodes. Unfortunately, those episodes were designed to be the final episodes of the year which is why each of the episodes ended with some bigger cliffhangers.

That’s right, the Dec. 7 episodes of Chicago Med, Fire, and PD were the show’s fall finales, meaning there will not be any new episodes of the shows coming in 2022. The good news is new episodes will be coming in early 2023, the bad news is that fans are in for an extended break ahead.

When do Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD return? (2023)

With the holidays upon us, NBC has sent the One Chicago shows on break for the remainder of 2022 with no new episodes coming in December. As we’ve seen in past years, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD will return the first week of January.

As confirmed by NBC, the One Chicago shows will resume their current seasons on Wednesday, Jan. 4 with the show’s winter premieres. The episodes should bring resolution to the big cliffhangers we saw in the Dec. 7 fall finales and are sure to kick off the new year with some major developments!
