Who plays Herrmann’s wife Cindy on Chicago Fire?

Herrmann (David Eigenberg) had to face down some tough news on Chicago Fire when he found out his wife Cindy had been diagnosed with lung cancer. It was a devastating turn of events for a duo that had mostly eschewed the drama of their 51 peers.

Given that Cindy’s diagnosis came at the end of the episode “A Guy I Used to Know”, we can assume that the show will be exploring it (and its various setbacks) for the rest of the season. Cindy will be getting more screen time than she ever has before, so we figured now would be a good time to discuss the actor who plays her.

Is Robyn Coffin leaving Chicago Fire?

Cindy Herrmann is played by Robyn Coffin. She’s been acting for over a decade, as she made her TV debut on The Chicago Code in 2011 (geographically, it was a sign of things to come).She went on to appear in shows like Under Covers and Empire, and films like Without Grace and Later Days.

Coffin’s biggest role to date, however, has been that of Cindy on Chicago Fire. She appeared in the pilot episode, and has since gone on to star in a whopping 45 episodes since 2012. She also had a cameo in a 2016 episode of Chicago Med.

Most of Coffin’s appearances were during the first few seasons of Fire, especially given the story arc of the Herrmanns losing their home to foreclosure. She was in eight episodes a piece during seasons 1 and 4, whereas she was only in six episodes over the last three seasons.

That being said, the lung cancer diagnosis for Cindy is going to change things. It’s safe to assume the character will play a bigger role in the show than ever before, and will be getting lots of tense and emotionally charged scenes with her husband.

We can’t wait to see where Coffin takes the character moving forward.
