911 season 6 has been on an extended hiatus leaving many fans wondering when the hit FOX first responder drama will finally return and we can’t blame them.

Like many shows, 911 signed off the air in late November with many fans assuming the show would be taking a few weeks off for the holidays before returning in January. Unfortunately, FOX had other plans in place and decided to send the show on an extended hiatus instead of bringing it back at the top of the new year alongside its fellow fall dramas including The Resident.

When a premiere date was announced for 911: Lone Starwhich returns on Jan. 24 with its fourth season, the hope was that FOX might look to once again pair the shows. Instead, FOX announced that 911: Lone Star would be returning and paired with its newest original drama Accused, leaving 911 on the sideline and fans to wonder when the show will be returning.

911 season 6 updates: Has FOX set a return date?

At this time, FOX has yet to announce a return date for 911 season 6; however, it’s looking likely the show will return sometime in March 2023. This is because FOX took a similar scheduling approach in 2022 with the show’s fifth season.

Last year, 911 signed off the air in November before going on an extended break and returning in late March. This allowed FOX to then air the remainder of the season with limited interruption with only one break in the season following its return.

Should FOX take a similar approach with season 6, it’s likely we could see the show return the week of March 20, 2023. What we don’t yet know is if the show will once again reclaim its Monday night time spot or if the show could move to Tuesdays to be paired with 911: Lone Star.

As soon as FOX confirms the show’s return date, we’ll be sure to let you know but it’s looking like we have an extended break still ahead for the show this winter.
