Valentine’s Day may have already passed, but love in always in the air with One Chicago. The franchise is known for its seemingly endless array of romances, many of which led to the most iconic moments in each show.

That being said, romance has had a rough go in 2023. We’ve seen the dissolution of several relationships so far, whether they be marriages or failed attempts at long distance. With this in mind, we decided to comb through the One Chicago ensemble and pick out three romances we wouldn’t mind seeing this calendar year.

Are Violet and Gallo dating on Chicago Fire?

The kiss that nobody saw coming. Violet (Hanako Greensmith) and Gallo (Alberto Rosende) have had a complicated history on Chicago Fire, from hooking up and being jealous of one another to Gallo helping to comfort Violet during her romance with the late Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas).

Then, in the episode “Run Like Hell”, Violet decided to plant one on Gallo as a way of getting another guy to stop pestering her for dates. It’s a gambit that works, but the “pretend” kiss definitely lingers longer than it needs to, suggesting there’s still a spark between these two friends. We’re curious to see where things go…

Are Asher and Archer dating on Chicago Med?

Another unlikely pairing. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) was initially against the idea of bringing Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) back to Gaffney after her struggles with addiction. He made it very clear that she would have to earn his trust, and she’s managed to do that and then some.

The physicians have gotten increasingly close during season 8, to the extent that they share things with each other that nobody else knows about. Weber and Schram have addressed the rumors of a romance between their characters, and their reluctance to give a concrete answer gives us the impression that it’s definitely a thing.

Are Burgess and Ruzek dating on Chicago PD?

The most complicated of the prospective romances? We think so. Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) have been through a lot together despite not being a couple for a few seasons. They raise a child together, and effectively live together when they aren’t on the clock.

Given that Burgess is dealing with PTSD in the field, it seems as though the show is pushing her and Ruzek closer and closer together. There have been implications that the characters will end up together in the end, so why not make it sooner than later?
