3 Chicago Fire characters who might be in leaving in S11
Severide (Taylor Kinney) is gone. It happened. The veteran Chicago Fire character has had to go elsewhere to attend an arson investigation program, which he will presumably return from in the next season or so.
It’s a tough loss. Severide is one of the anchoring presences of the show, and without him the 51 ensemble will have to pull together and fill the void. The thing is, though, some of the secondary characters might be in danger of leaving the show too.
Here’s a rundown on three Fire characters who might be gone by the time season 11 is over.
Is Ritter leaving Chicago Fire season 11?
Ritter (Daniel Kyri) is a pretty stable presence on Chicago Fire. He doesn’t get into as much drama as the rest of his co-workers, and is often the voice of reason for them. He has, however, made an enemy that could affect his career at the 51. He crossed paths with Ramsey (David Lee), a Chicago city treasurer who was cheating on his wife at the scene of a fire.
Ritter was told to keep Ramsey’s name out of the official report, and he did, but the mere mention of a “man” sent the treasurer into a rage. He threatened to “ruin” Ritter if anything comes back to bite him as a result of the report. Not a great spot for Ritter, and one that seems primed for a continuation in a future episode.
Is Herrmann leaving Chicago Fire season 11?
The thought of Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg) leaving Chicago Fire is tough to even consider. He’s such a foundational part of the show and its personality. Besides, where would the rest of the team meet if not at Paddy’s Pub? Herrmann’s future has been made uncertain by the health of his wife, Cindy (Robyn Coffin).

There’s plenty reason to be worried about Herrmann’s presence on the show, especially if the writers decide to take Cindy’s chemo treatments in a particularly tragic direction. We doubt that’s where it will go, but we do have keep it in mind as the second half of the season unfolds.
Is Sam Carver leaving Chicago Fire season 11?
Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) has not had a particularly smooth time at the 51. He was nearly brought up on charges by a civilian, he’s argued with Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) on multiple occasions, and he was caught in a bomb explosion. The guy just can’t seem to catch a break, though some of his bad luck streak can be attributed to his actions.
Carver has shown growth, and the revelation that he’s been hooking up with Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) suggests an arc that could shed light on a different side of his character, but we still don’t know if it’s enough to get him past season 11.
He’s going to have to make some huge changes if he’s going to be a 51 lifer.
