Is Jay Halstead in Chicago PD season 10?

The character we’re all still wondering about. Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) leaving PD has been the story of season 10, so it makes sense that fans are still curious as to whether he’ll return at some point. Soffer is going to direct an episode at the back end of the season, so he’s obviously on good terms with the cast and crew, so why not?

Well, not enough time has passed for Halstead’s return to feel impactful. He told Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) that he would be gone for eight months, and given how granular the season has been in terms of time, it’s likely we won’t hit the eight-month window until well into the next season.

Soffer has been open to the idea of returning to the show in the future. However, when you consider he did not even return for the show’s 200th episode despite being on set, it looks like his return isn’t likely to come during season 10. Still, we can continue to hope that maybe the writers will find a way to get Soffer back for the season finale to give us some sort of update on what Halstead has been up to since leaving town.
