Love is always in the air on Chicago Fire. Characters have gotten together, gotten married and split up for over a decade, so fans know that their favorite couple might not make it through the next season. There have been lots of onscreen reasons, and some notable offscreen ones too.

As Chicago Fire enters the home stretch of its 11th season, we felt like it would be a good time to look at the current roster of couples and determine which ones are at risk for breaking up before the finale. We don’t want it to happen; what we’re saying is we could see it happening.

Are Brett and Dylan still together on Chicago Fire?

Brett (Sylvie Brett) has had a rough time getting over Casey (Jesse Spencer). They had something special, and were it not for the long distance of it all, they would probably still be together. She hit things off with Dylan (Christopher Allen), then recoiled, then decided to give things another shot, so the exact nature of their romance is unclear right now– outside of the fact that they’re trying it out.

Still, the ground underneath them is shaky, and it feels like Dylan may be more of a rebound than anything. Plus, it’s been confirmed that Casey will be coming back to the 51 for an episode, and that’s going to greatly complicate whatever lingering feelings both him and Brett still have.

Are Seager and Carver still together on Chicago Fire?

This is a coupling we never saw coming. The reveal that Wendy Seager (Andy Allo) and Sam Carver (Jake Lockett) were sleeping together was out of the blue, but it opened up interesting directions for both characters to grow, both together and separate, moving forward.

In terms of personality, there’s not much in common between the calm Seager and the aggressive Carver, so a break up after a single argument or a professional disagreement definitely seems possible. We could also seem these two being a will-they-won’t-they storyline in the future.

Are Kidd and Severide still together on Chicago Fire?

The big one. Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) are the couple of Chicago Fire, with both of them getting married last year and both of them serving as main cast members. The thing is, though, Severide’s future with the 51 is unclear, and depending on how long he’s gone, it could get to be too much for Kidd.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Fire writers decide to flip what happened last season, when Kidd was gone and Severide had to struggle with her absence and lack of communication. If one time was enough to make them question their future, what will two times mean? We might just find out the hard way.
