Chicago FireChicago Med, and Chicago PD might not yet be renewed, but it seems this is because NBC is rumored to be in the process of negotiating a deal that would keep the series around for more than just one season!

According to a recent report from Deadline, the reason NBC has not yet renewed its hit One Chicago franchise for next season is that the network is in the process of working with Wolf Entertainment on a deal that would feature a multi-season renewal for the hit series. As the report notes, negotiations are said to be underway with the biggest obstacle being cost; however, it’s noted that Wolf Entertainment is known for keeping production budgets tight which is expected to help the deal go through.

The update is definitely exciting for fans who have been stressing over the shows’ future on the network given none have been renewed as of April.

How many seasons might NBC renew Chicago Fire for?

It’s hard to predict just how many seasons NBC might look to renew the One Chicago dramas for, but if history repeats itself there is a possibility NBC could renew Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago PD for three seasons once again.

The three-season order NBC handed out back in 2020 definitely worked in the network’s favor as the One Chicago dramas have remained top performers for the network. That renewal also allowed the creative teams to deliver some amazing season-ending cliffhangers without the fear of not getting to follow through with the story due to a shocking cancellation.

Should NBC hand out another three-season renewal to each of the One Chicago shows that would keep Chicago Fire around through season 14, Chicago PD through season 13, and Chicago Med through season 11.

This would also mean fans could continue to enjoy the shows without fear of having to say goodbye to them anytime soon as a three-season renewal would keep the shows on until at least 2026!
