Chicago Fire: Taylor Kinney missing in girlfriend’s new IG photos

Taylor Kinney has become a bit of a mystery in 2023. The actor posted pretty regularly on his Instagram account, and was seen every week by millions as a star of Chicago Fire. Now, though, the actor has stepped away from the show and gone quiet on all social media.

It’s expected that he will return to both, eventually, but we’ve been given very little in the way of specific details. Kinney’s girlfriend Ashley Cruger has started posting again on IG, after taking a similar hiatus, but Kinney is notably absent from her photos. What gives?

Who is Taylor Kinney’s girlfriend in 2023?

Cruger, a model who made a cameo in the Chicago Fire season 11 premiere, has not been shy about posting photos of Kinney on her account. He first appeared on her account in June 2022, followed by appearances in July and September.


Cruger posted a series of photos on April 5, which is ironically the same day Chicago Fire aired, and none of them featured Kinney. The photos see Cruger posing with a designer bag, wearing a robe at the Beverly Hilton hotel, and posing in her car.

The only allusion to romance, or dating, oddly enough, is a screenshot of a TikTok that features a woman with a ski-mask and a lighter. The caption over the woman reads: “When he invites me to his house for a first date w/o getting to know me. And now I gotta teach him a lesson about strangers.”

The allusion to a first date is strange, given that Cruger and Kinney have been dating for well over a year. It’s possible the TikTok was thrown in there without any deeper meaning and was just meant to be funny, but some fans wonder whether it could be alluding to the couple no longer being together.

It’s difficult to gage, given that Kinney has not appeared on Cruger’s account for several months and he is not posting on his own account. Hopefully things will become clear once Kinney decides to rejoin the show and/or social media.
