Chicago PD has been delving into some intense storylines as of late, but fans will have to wait to find out what happens to Ruzek (John Patrick Flueger) as he attempts to navigate a deadly undercover mission.
The police procedural will not be airing on Wednesday, April 19. In fact, there will be no new episodes of PD for the rest of the month. Instead, NBC will be airing reruns of earlier season 10 episodes. This week, the rerun will focus on Sean O’Neal (Jefferson White) and the desperate scramble to bring him in.
When will Chicago PD return with new episodes?
It’s no doubt a bummer that Chicago PD is making fans wait a month before releasing the final handful of season 10 episodes. There is some good news, though. The break will be over as soon as the month turns over. The series will return on Wednesday, May 3.
The promo for the episode suggests that there will be a focus on Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins), and a case that may or may not have to do with the policeman’s estranged father. We can assume there will be an update on Ruzek’s undercover mission, but Atwater will be getting the spotlight. Check out the promo below:

On top of the break almost being over, NBC has confirmed that it will mark the last break of the season. There four remaining episodes will air back-to-back as soon throughout May. Then the series is going on its usual summer break before returning for season 11 (which was recently confirmed by the network).
Chicago PD season 11 will have another 22 episodes, suggesting that it will return in the fall and maintain its usual time slot on Wednesday night. That said, there will be some changes to the cast due to NBC’s budget limitations.
