How many kids does Herrmann have on Chicago Fire?
Who doesn’t love Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg)? The grizzly firefighter has been a core player on Chicago Fire since the show premiered. Much of his charm comes down to his developed persona: he’s tough but fair. He’s direct with his coworkers but you can always tell that he cares for them at the end of the day.
Nowhere is this more apparent than with Herrmann’s family. It’s no secret that the character is dedicated to being a great husband and father, but the recent storyline involving Herrmann’s wife and her chemotherapy treatments has raised questions about his family life.
How many kids Herrmann have? Here’s a rundown of his family, and whether the number of kids has changed over the course of the show.
Who are Herrmann’s kids on Chicago Fire?
Herrmann has five kids with his wife Cindy (Robyn Coffin). They have a daughter named Anabelle and four sons: Lee Henry, Luke, Max, and Kenny James. The latter son, Kenny James, was born at the end of season 1.
The veteran firefighter’s fatherly impulses have surfaced throughout season 10. In an earlier episode, he expressed concern when he found a child in the backseat of a car that was involved with a crash. The child was thankfully fine, but the possibility of not being able to save him shook him to his core. There was even speculation that Herrmann would be considering retirement, but thankfully that didn’t come to fruition.

This isn’t the first time Herrmann has dealt with these feelings on the job. In season 3, he goes through a period of difficulty after answering a call in which a man smoked drugs in front of his infant son, which eventually led to the son’s death. Herrmann is furious and actually tries to go after the man, but is restrained by Casey (Jesse Spencer).
Herrmann is by no means perfect, but the character’s insistence of trying to do the right thing, while learning alongside his kids makes him one of the easiest character to relate to and root for on Chicago Fire. We can’t wait to see how his family overcomes their current situation and grows together in future seasons.
