Taylor Kinney was engaged to one of the most famous pop singers of the 21st century: Lady Gaga. The two of them called off their engagement in 2018, and the former has kept quiet about his subsequent romances, but Chicago Fire fan interest persists.

Who is Kinney dating in 2023? Does he currently have a girlfriend? These questions have gained even more traction in recent months, with the actor deciding to take a leave of absence from the show, so we thought we’d break it down.

Yes, Kinney does currently have a girlfriend. He’s dating model Ashley Cruger, and we know this because the actor has been very open about posting photos and attending red carpet events with Cruger. She even made a cameo in the season 11 premiere of Chicago Fire.

This willingness to share his personal life comes in sharp contrast to Kinney’s previous stance. During a 2017 interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor side-stepped questions about his love life by making a joke about his character, Severide.

“My dating life is through Chicago Fire,” he quipped. “I live vicariously through my character.” He then went on dismiss the notion of having a “type” and described his future partner as someone who has certain intangibles. “Someone that you meet and connect with, and someone you can laugh with, and maybe share a [similar] sense of humor, then things go from there,” he added.

It appears he’s found these intangibles through Cruger.

It’s unclear when Kinney and Cruger started dating, but their relationship was made public in April 2022, when they attended an event in Park City, Utah together. They have been inseparable ever since, as evidenced by their respective Instagram accounts. Kinney, who hasn’t posted on his IG since December, continues to pop up in photos and Instagram stories on Cruger’s account.

Recently, the couple were photographed at the MotoGP VIP Experience & Charity Giving event in Austin, Texas.
