Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) may be a married man in 2023, but he’s spent the bulk of Chicago Fire dating several different women. The show made it clear from the start that he was someone who  didn’t like to be single for long, even if the relationships he entered into were not the best fit.

Since Severide has settled down with Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), we thought now would be a good time to look back at his dating history over the past eleven seasons, and recap some of the people you may have forgotten about.

Renée Royce

Severide and his co-worker Leslie Shay (Lauren German) were trying to have a baby via In Vitro fertilization, but the attempt was put on hold when his ex-girlfriend, Renée Royce (Sarah Shahi), re-entered the picture and announced that she was pregnant with Severide’s kid.

Though surprised, Severide immediately asked Renée to move in and fully intended to rekindle things with her in the hopes of starting a proper family. It wasn’t until Shay urged Severide to ask for a paternity test that he started to develop suspicions, and when the test revealed that he wasn’t the father of the baby, his second chance romance with Renée was over.

Erin Lindsay

A crossover romance that’s been lost to time. Severide and Chicago PD‘s Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) were introduced when the latter was investigating the disappearance of Severide’s half sister. They were instantly taken with each other, and things got serious fast, but the death of Leslie Shay greatly affected Severide, to the point where he was isolating himself.

Lindsay tried to communicate this to Severide, but after he misses one date too many, she decides to break things off. She tells the firefighter that she can’t be the “girl sitting alone in a restaurant waiting for [him].”

Brittany Baker

After breaking up with Lindsay, Severide decides to go to Las Vegas and drink his troubles away. He winds up meeting a graphic designer named Brittany Baker (Serinda Swan) during his stay, and they get married within 24 hours of knowing each other.

Needless to say, the whirlwind romance shocked people when Severide came back to Chicago, and many questioned whether it would actually last. Severide and Brittany had genuine affection for one another, but the latter struggled with Severide’s dangerous job and difficult hours, and she eventually moved back to Vegas to be closer to her family.

Anna Turner

The most tragic case on the list. Severide met Anna Turner (Charlotte Sullivan) because he was donating bone marrow to her. The donation was greatly improving her condition, as she suffered from leukemia, and they decided to start dating.

Unfortunately, Anna’s health worsened shortly after they decided to make things official, and she ultimately succumbed to her illness. Severide was by her side right when she died, and despite scrambling to find help when she flatlined, her DNR (do not resuscitate) order prevents the staff from doing anything.

April Sexton

Severide obviously likes the crossover component of dating. He’s known Chicago Med‘s April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) since they were both teens, as April’s parents took Severide in for a brief time. The two formally went on a date in Chicago Med season 1, but it doesn’t go much further as April gets into a relationship shortly after.

Things worked out well for both parties. Severide went on to marry Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo), of course, and April went on to marry one of her co-workers, Ethan Choi (Brian Tee). Both weddings took place within the last season of their respective shows.
