David Eigenberg family: Who is the actor married to?
Christopher Herrmann is a family man. He has the most kids of anyone on Chicago Fire, and he’s proven himself to be a considerate and reliable husband, especially with the recent news of his wife’s cancer diagnosis.
Herrmann fatherly demeanor and veteran status within the 51 makes sense considering the stability of his home life, and much of this comes down to the sterling performance of David Eigenberg.
We figured we’d look into the actor’s personal life and note the similarities between him and his onscreen counterpart.
Does David Eigenberg have kids?
Eigenberg is married to Chrysti Eigenberg, and has been since 2002. The details of how the couple met are unclear, as both have gone to great lengths to stay out of the public eye. What we know is that they met at a gala event in 2001, and had their wedding at the Samovar in Manhattan.
While Chrysti has never spoken publicly about their marriage, Eigenberg did open up about their first meeting during an interview with The Day in 2021. “It just hit me at the core,” he said about meeting his future wife. He added that Chrysti was the first person who made him feel as though he could comfortably “commit” to someone else.

In a separate interview with Cosmo TV, the actor admits that their whirlwind romance led to some tension in their second year together. “We fought, I think for a year straight,” he recalled. “[But] when the dust settles, and you could still like, forgive each other and communicate… there’s something in that…”
Eigenberg has two children with his wife: Louie Steven Eigenberg, born January 2009; and Myrna Belle Eigenberg, born January 2014. They have not posted many photos of their children on social media, as they prefer to maintain Louie and Myrna’s privacy.
Like Herrmann, Eigenberg takes great pride in keeping a separation between his professional and personal lives. And like the character he plays, he’s terrific at both.
