May is upon us which means the 2022-2023 television season will soon be coming to a close as our favorite shows sign off for the summer including CBS’s hit Tuesday night drama FBI. 

After what’s been another amazing season, FBI will wrap its fifth season on Tuesday, May 23, at 8/7 as the team races against time to stop a serial killer. Not only will the season’s final episode find the team chasing a serial killer responsible for the death of a respected doctor and others, but it seems one member of the team will face a life-or-death decision that is sure to have fans talking.

As the current television season comes to a close, fans are eagerly awaiting news about the show’s fate, and understandably so. With the season finale only weeks away, many viewers are wondering whether FBI has been renewed for another season or if it will be canceled. As with many popular television shows, the future of FBI is shrouded in mystery, leaving fans to speculate and search for clues and we’re here to help provide the answers you seek!

Is FBI renewed? (Is FBI season 6 happening?)

FBI will indeed be coming back for another season and has been renewed for season 6, the renewal just didn’t come this year which is why there might be some confusion among fans regarding the show’s future.

Last season, Wolf Entertainment and CBS managed to strike a multi-renewal deal that saw FBI, FBI: International, and FBI: Most Wanted each renewed for two seasons. So unlike most shows that had to wait to learn their fates this year, the FBI franchise entered the 2022-23 season with renewals already in hand and will be coming back next season.

FBI season 6 is expected to premiere in the fall and we should once again see the show paired with its sister series as CBS’s FBI block has yielded a lot of success so far. Barring any unexpected shakeups, we should see the series return on Tuesday nights this fall.
