Upton (Tracy Spiridakos) is in trouble. The Chicago PD veteran has been more of a supporting player in recent episodes, but the promo images for the episode “Fight” suggests that she is going to be thrown right into the middle of a terrifying scenario.
The promo images show Upton tied up in what appears to be a public bathroom. She is attempting to fight different ways out, but it appears that she’s trapped in the bathroom with another person named Lee (Jack DiFalco). Lee is bloodied and leaning up against a toilet, though it’s unclear if he’s unconscious or not.
The synopsis for the episode “Fight” reads:
"Upton is unwittingly drawn into a deadly betrayal and finds herself in a fight for her life; with minimal leads, Voight and the team scramble to find her before it’s too late."
The images that have accompanied this synopsis certainly support the notion that Upton is going to have to rely on her wits and her survival instincts to make it out of the situation alive. Another interesting component of all is is that Voight (Jason Beghe) will be leading the charge to rescue Upton.
As those who watched the season 9 finale recall, Upton was pursuing Voight when he was seriously wounded by Anna Avalos (Carmela Zumbado), and Upton was the one who shot her down in an effort to protect her boss and friend. The situation led to some tension between the characters, so it’ll be interesting to see whether this tension returns now that the tables have been turned.

Upton has been struggling with other issues; namely, her splintering marriage. It’s been a while since we’ve gotten any updates on her communication with Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and it doesn’t look as though they are going to stay together much longer. We’re curious to see if this point of contention comes up at any point during Upton’s scramble to escape.
