Chicago PD: Will Ruzek get killed in the season 10 finale?

Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) has always been incredibly dedicated to his job. He’s one of the hardest-working characters on Chicago PD, especially when it comes to undercover missions. The thing is, the current undercover mission he’s on may be his most difficult to date.

Ruzek is trying to infiltrate a group of domestic terrorists, and put them behind bars before they are able to carry out any major attacks. The problem is, the group may be more aware of Ruzek’s motives than he realizes, meaning his life is in danger.

Is Patrick John Flueger leaving Chicago PD season 10?

All signs point to the undercover mission culminating in the season 10 finale. During a recent interview with NBC Insider, Flueger discussed the current mindset of the character and how he’s more at risk than ever.

“I think he’s exhausted, and I think it’s starting to wear on him that what he’s undercover for, it’s not for one individual,” the actor revealed. “It’s for this possible mass attack. So I think it is weighing on him as things go forward.”

The exhaustion may be partially to blame for his being a step behind in the undercover mission. Ruzek is consistently sharp, but the developments with those of his personal life, both with Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and their daughter Makayla (Ramona Edith Williams), have been given priority over the job.

"“It’s this odd thing,” the actor added. “Being undercover, that kind of stuff was something that he always loved, but this one has become so complicated… That duality is not fun [for Ruzek], especially when he wants to go home, when he’s got a daughter, and he’s got this woman that he’s rekindled his romance with.”"

While Ruzek could face some deadly consequences as a result of these complications, we don’t think he will actually be killed off. There have been past instances of IU members being shot or seriously injured, and based on the continued involvement of Flueger and the recent season 11 renewal, we’re confident the character will make it through the finale with his life intact.
