One Chicago has seen lots of cast turnover in 2023. There have been departures from newcomers and long-term characters alike, and characters we thought we had said goodbye unexpectedly came back.

Still, there are a few episodes left for Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD, and each show has laid the groundwork for specific characters to consider walking away from their jobs. Find out which ones are most likely to leave by their respective season finales.

Is Maggie Lockwood leaving Chicago Med season 8?

Maggie (Marlyne Barrett) has been part of the Gaffney Medical team since the Chicago Med pilot, so it’s hard to imagine what the show looks like without her. Still, the character admitted to being unhappy with the changes that have been made at Gaffney, and informed Dr. Goodwin (S Epatha Merkerson) that she’s considered moving to another hospital.

It was a surprising reveal, but one that made sense given the troubles that Gaffney has faced in recent weeks. Our hope is that the possibility of Maggie leaving inspires Goodwin and others to take back control of the hospital, and restore it to its former glory so that we don’t lose any more crucial members!

Is Adam Ruzek leaving Chicago PD season 10?

Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) is headed for a breakdown. The character is undercover in a very dangerous case, and he’s struggling to juggle his concern for those involved in the case with his personal relationship with Burgess (Marina Squerciati). The cast interviews keep harping on the idea that the character is “exhausted”, as though the job is becoming less and less for him.

Still, we can see an alternative where Ruzek has a near-brush with death, or is injured during the undercover mission, and is given time to rest and prioritize what’s most important to him. Given that the show is still reeling from the loss of Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), we wouldn’t want to envision PD without Ruzek.

Is Sylvie Brett leaving Chicago Fire season 11?

Brett (Kara Killmer) is another One Chicago character who voiced her desire to leave to her boss, Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker). Well, voiced is putting it mildly; she threatened to walk if a baby needing medical attention was not properly handled. Thankfully, for both her career and the baby in question, things worked out.

Brett has been struggling to find a direction in Chicago Fire season 11, and the tease that she will receive “life-changing news” during the finale has some fans wondering whether she will decide to leave 51 altogether. The baby subplot suggests another route for the character to go, and we hope it turns out to be true so she sticks around.
