Chicago PD has always prioritized family. From the metaphorical family that’s formed within the IU to the literal family that each of the characters have struggled to connect with and protect, there’s always some interpersonal dynamic being focused on.

So, it seems appropriate that several of the PD cast members make special Instagram posts in honor of Mother’s Day. Here’s a rundown of the cast members who felt like giving a special nod either their mothers or their own motherhood!

Marina Squerciati, who plays Burgess, posted a sweet photo of her and her daughter at a Chicago restaurant.

”Mother’s Day brunch @adalinachicago! I was honored the Disney Princess Mira, Royal Detective, took time away from her mystery-solving adventures to join me for a delicious meal,” the actress wrote in the caption.

Squerciati is one of the most active social media users of the entire Chicago PD cast, but its nice to see her dynamic with her daughter is much less troubled than the one between her TV character, Burgess, and Burgess’ adopted daughter, Makayla (Ramona Edith Williams).

Another PD star who decided to celebrate via Instagram was Benjamin Levy Aguilar, who plays the rookie cop Torres. He posted a lengthy message relaying some of the encouraging pieces of advice his mother used to relay to him when he was starting out as an actor.

“Who gives a f— Benjamin, you can do ANYTHING you want to do in this life and f— anyone that thinks we are crazy. Who is saying that? I’ll f— them up,” he wrote. “I believe in you. I have no doubt. you hear me? NO DOUBT.”

The rest of the message includes passages in Aguilar’s native Spanish. It also includes several photos of Aguilar as a child, and his mother at different ages. Check out the full post above.
