There is a lot of uncertainty going on at the moment in the world of television with the Writers Guide of America strike shutting down a handful of productions and preventing work from beginning on new seasons. As such, it’s caused a lot of confusion and panic among viewers regarding what the future might hold for their favorite shows.
We’ve seen a handful of shocking cancellations this season including the axing of several beloved shows, but is Chicago Fire among them, or will the show be coming back for another season at NBC?

While some had hoped NBC might hand out a multi-season renewal, the network went a different route and only opted to hand out a single-season renewal this year which means only one more season is guaranteed at this time; however, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down and continues to rank among NBC’s most-watched and top-rated programs.
Currently, the plan is for the One Chicago shows to return in the fall; however, their returns could be delayed by the ongoing WGA Strike. Should this happen, there is a chance the seasons could be pushed back to October or beyond, it will all come down to how long the WGA strike lasts.
