Deleted Chicago PD scene photos seem to hint at Adam’s fate (Spoilers)

The Chicago PD season 10 finale left Adam’s fate up in the air, but photos from an unaired scene from the episode seem to hint at what might be coming for Adam when the show returns for its new season.

In the season finale, Adam was shot in the chest by Samantha Beck’s son Cal and left for dead when Samantha grabbed her son and fled. Luckily, Adam was able to get to his phone and call for help. This allowed Voight and the paramedics to reach him before he died in the Becks’ house.
His fate is left up in the air as we see him fighting for his life on the ambulance ride to the hospital with our only update after being that he was receiving emergency treatment.
This allowed the show to leave Adam’s fate up in the air as the season’s biggest cliffhanger which makes sense as the shows have been known to end with leaving the lives of characters up in the air in their final episodes. However, it seems that might not have always been the plan as evident in a series of photos from a scene that was surprisingly cut from the season finale.
Does Adam die on Chicago PD? (New photos offer possible spoilers)
In the season 10 finale, our last glimpse of Adam as he’s raced back to surgery after being transported to Med via ambulance. When we last see him, he’s in pretty bad shape and it’s very unclear whether he’ll survive the gunshot to the chest.
This moment seemed to be designed to build suspense and keep fans talking throughout the offseason, but it appears that wasn’t always the plan. In a series of photos released by NBC after the finale, we see that Adam appears to pull through his surgeries and is recovering at Med with Kim by his side.

In the four photos below, Kim is sitting by Adam’s side as he lays in a hospital bed post-op looking much better than he did when he was admitted. While Adam does not appear to be conscious in the images, it does seem that he pulled through the worst of things and one would imagine the deleted scene likely would have been used to give fans more hope about his future.

Given we don’t know the full context of the scene, it’s hard to know what updates Kim might have been given about Adam’s status, the photos from the scene do seem to hint that Adam is going to pull through.
