In a recent Reddit poll, One Chicago fans discussed who had the most badass voice of those in the cast and Jason Beghe emerged as the clear winner among fans in the discussion. Beghe’s unique tone and delivery were quickly praised and pointed out by the fans who almost unanimously bestowed Voight with the title of most badass voice.
However, fans didn’t stop there. The most popular comment in the entire thread was one in which one fan dubbed Voight the “Batman of Chicago.”
“[Hank] could be the Batman of Chicago, but without a no kill policy,” the users wrote clearly referencing Voight’s history of crossing the line as needed to protect his team and the city.
The comment quickly inspired others to jump into the discussion with one fan playfully commenting that “Hank chose to have a ‘must kill’ policy instead.” Another added how Voight could be a perfect Batman with a “must kill” policy.

Voight and Batman do share some intriguing similarities despite how different they might seen on the outside. Both characters are driven by a strong sense of justice and do share a willingness to cross ethical boundaries for the greater good. Voight’s gritty determination, in particular, mirrors Batman’s unwavering resolve to fight crime with both setting out to do whatever is necessary to protect their cities.
Additionally, they both possess a brooding demeanor, guarding their true intentions from others — including those closest to them often under the guise of wanting to keep them protected.
While Voight may lack Batman’s iconic gadgets, they both exhibit a relentless commitment to their respective missions, making them formidable forces in their worlds. So dubbing Voight the Batman of Chicago is a fitting compliment for the Intelligence Unit’s longtime leader.
