On June 12, the One Chicago franchise lost a beloved member of its family with the passing of actor Treat Williams at the age of 71. As confirmed by People, the former Chicago Fire actor passed away as the result of injuries sustained during a vehicle accident.
Over his decades-long career, Williams starred in a number of titles including his four-season run on Everwood as Dr. Andrew ”Andy” Brown and his recent five-season run as Mick O’Brien on Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores.
Of course, to fans of the One Chicago franchise, Williams is best known for his role in the early seasons of Chicago Fire. Appearing in 16 episodes across seasons 1-7, Willians played Benny Severide, the father of Taylor Kinney’s character Lieutenant Kelly Severide.

In a new Instagram post, Sardarov remembered Williams as a friend who was “so full of play” and whose smile “could light a major city.” The post was accompanied by a sweet photo of Sardarov and Williams out for a drive in which both are all smiles.
"“Treat was so full of play. He loved to fly & he loved chardonnay but the only thing he loved more than life itself was his family. Goddamn, that smile could light a major city. I’ll miss my friend.”"

The first tribute to come in from the One Chicago family was fittingly from actor Taylor Kinney who played Williams’ television son on Chicago Fire. Kinney released the following statement to People Following Williams’ death, remembering his TV dad:
"“My thoughts and prayers are with Treat’s family. He played my father on Chicago Fire, and was a father figure to everyone on set. I’ll always relish our conversations and his uncanny ability to light up a room. We all send love, he will be missed.”"
