4. Ramon Dawson, Chicago Fire

Ramon Dawson (Daniel Zacapa) has been a thorn in the side of his children Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) and Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) for years, particularly Gabriela. Every time he’s in a Chicago Fire episode, he’s always bringing some kind of headache.

Ramon made our list of One Chicago’s worst parents overall for a variety of bad behaviors, including publicly announcing his divorce from Antonio and Gabby’s mom (which was his fault anyway), dropping Matthew Casey’s (Jesse Spencer) name to get himself out of trouble and overstaying his welcome at the Casey-Dawson home.

But what pushes Ramon Dawson further down our list of One Chicago’s questionable dads is that he’s more aloof than anything else. He does things for his own benefit and causes problems, but it isn’t intended to wreck his kids’ lives—he just seems to have no comprehension of how his behavior affects other people. And even though he’s a troublemaker, he genuinely loves his kids and they love him.
