5 worst dads from Chicago Fire, Med and PD ranked bad to downright awful

1. Robert Haywood, Chicago Med
We thought no One Chicago father would ever be worse than Cornelius Rhodes, but then we had to suffer through Robert Haywood (Michel Gill) in Chicago Med season 3. He’s a despicable man, made worse by the fact that the show inflicted him upon us for much longer than it ever needed to.
From the first moment he appeared, there had never been anything even vaguely good about the father of Dr. Sarah Reese (Rachel DiPillo). He was absent for most of her life, then suddenly pops back up in the third season—because he’s got a heart problem and expects that Reese is going to support him. He doesn’t ask for her help; he expects it as if she owes him just because she’s his daughter.
It didn’t take Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) long to diagnose Robert with a personality disorder to go with his heart issue. Maybe that explained why he thought Reese was going to co-sign on a loan and let him move in with her, but it didn’t excuse his behavior either.
Then Chicago Med turned things incredibly weird in the second half of the season. We saw Robert gleefully try to turn Reese against Charles, delight in tearing down his daughter when she came to visit him after his heart attack, and the show pretty much confirmed he killed at least one missing woman. When you’re a potential serial killer, that easily makes you One Chicago’s worst father.
