Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) doesn’t mess around. The Chicago PD character is often at the center of shootouts and action scenes, making it clear that he’s fearless when it comes to putting bad guys behind bars. Of course, this fearlessness can sometimes backfire. Ruzek was shot in the season 10 finale, and the episode ended without making it clear whether he survived.

Ruzek certainly looks physically imposing when he’s pursuing perps, but some viewers might be curious as to how imposing the character is from a height standpoint. How tall is he in comparison to the rest of the cast?

How tall is Patrick John Flueger on Chicago PD?

Ruzek and the actor who plays him, Patrick John Flueger, are actually among the tallest members of the Chicago PD cast. He stands at 6’0″, which makes him significantly taller then co-star Tracy Spiridakos and former co-star Jesse Lee Soffer, who stand at 5’6″ and 5’10”, respectively.

He’s also taller than the actor who plays his boss, Jason Beghe, who is 5’10” as well. In fact, the only cast member Flueger is shorter than is LaRoyce Hawkins, who stands at an impressive 6’3″ whenever he’s onscreen.

Flueger has been forthright about the role that bravery and risk-taking plays whenever he gets into character. He told Out of One Chicago that it was part of what drew him to Ruzek in the first place.

"“I like that Ruzek likes his job. He’s often entering dangerous situations, but still enjoys the work that he’s doing” he explained. “Ruzek always wants to be the first in the door, that’s how much he loves it.”"

Despite being taller than most of his peers, Flueger is not immune to getting injured on the set. During an interview with Steve Harvey, Soffer recounted an incident where he misjudged a kick and wound up getting Flueger in the “main stuff.”

“Instead of standing straight up like he was supposed to he kind of bent his knees a little and I just made full contact”, Soffer added. Thankfully, no permanent damage was done!
