Chicago PD season 11: When will the trailer be released?

Chicago PD is at a standstill. So is the rest of Hollywood, for that matter. The police procedural was originally slated to begin production in late July, but the writers strike and the actors strike has led to an indefinite delay.

NBC announced that PD will be taken off the fall schedule, and will instead be pushed back to 2024. That being said, there is some confusion about the trailer for the upcoming season. Will we be getting one soon, despite the production delay? Or will the trailer also get pushed back to next year?

When is Chicago PD season 11 coming back?

Sadly, the delay will apply to the trailer as well. Because the writers and actors went on strike when they did, the show did not get a chance to shoot any footage for season 11. It’s highly likely that the show doesn’t even have scripts prepared for new episodes, since the writers have been on strike for several months.

There’s also the lack of a concrete release date. While Chicago PD has been confirmed for a 2024 release, the specific month in which it will return depends on when the writers and actors strike get resolved, respectively. Screen Rant reported that AMPTP doesn’t plan on negotiating with the writers guild (WGA) until October, though, so it’s looking like a return date will be happening later rather than sooner.

PD star LaRoyce Hawkins recently spoke on the strike during a master class at LSU. “Naturally, after the writers strike, it’s going to take the writers a while to start warming up their rooms again and starting to conceptualize stories again,” he noted.

In the past, Chicago PD trailers have been released a few weeks before the season premiere. This is to build up anticipation without giving too much of the story away ahead of time. Once we get a solid release date for season 11, however, we can expect to get a proper trailer release as well.
