Christopher Herrmann had a tough ride throughout Chicago Fire season 11. Now eyes are on what to expect for him in Chicago Fire season 12.

What a hell of a ride Herrmann had throughout Chicago Fire season 11. We were all terrified for Cindy, as she learned she has lung cancer. Out of the two of them, Herrmann expected to get something like that. He runs into burning buildings. We all know there are serious health problems firefighters face due to their jobs, and some of them don’t show up until later in life.

Yet it was Cindy who suffered. We watched as Herrmann tried to be there for his wife and his children. He realized everything his wife did for him and the family, and suddenly, he realized just how he would need to step up.

It’s not like the 11th season ended in a good way for him, either. He was at the bedside of Mouch as Mouch bled out from his injury sustained at their previous call.

What will happen to Christopher Herrmann in Chicago Fire season 12?

We don’t quite know any details for Chicago Fire season 12, but we can look at where we left Herrmann to see what’s coming next. His first storyline is sure to be the aftermath of Mouch. Whether Mouch lives or dies, this is going to have a knock-on effect for Herrmann.

Could it lead to Herrmann questioning whether firefighting is a good idea? The man was seriously injured earlier on in the series, so he knows first-hand what the dangers are. However, with Cindy’s health problems and now Mouch, is it possible that all this is too close to home for him?

I’d love to see him step up more as a father and a husband. He’s provided for the family financially, but it’s always been up to Cindy to look after the children at home. He had to step up as she was fighting cancer, and this could be the perfect time for him to see that providing financially is just the least that he should have been doing.

We could also see more of him and Cindy together as a couple. He was devastated at the idea of losing his wife. Can we see more of him being the husband he wants to be?
