Sophia Bush has made it clear that she did not enjoy her time on Chicago PD. The actress was originally slated to play Erin Lindsay for seven seasons, but the hostile work environment she dealt with led to her deciding to leave in season four.

Bush has gone on to star in different shows, but she has continued to be open about her time on PD and the reasons why things reached a point of no return. The actress singled out one aspect in particular, during her appearance on the Drama Queens podcast.

Why did Sophia Bush leave Chicago PD?

Bush told the Drama Queens co-hosts that she was bothered by the fact that the men who worked on the production and were otherwise friendly did not stand up for her or support her when she identified a predator among the crew.

"“[I] had a group of men who were like, ‘I love you so much, you’re our best friend.’ [They] never got involved and never stood up,” Bush recounted. “And I know some of them are mad that I acknowledge that when we talk about this show as well, and you know what? I don’t care. That fear that I’m going to keep talking about it better be what makes you behave better on every set you’re on.”"

Bush went on to reveal that she was approached by her rep and told that she was either going to have to make claims against the inappropriate behavior on the set of Chicago PD or the set of her previous show, One Tree Hill. She advised to pick only one because her rep feared that she would be seen as the problem if the same accusation was made in two different instances.

Eventually, the accusations against both shows saw the light of day. Bush admitted that having to deal with two hostile work environments led to her seeking out smaller projects and reconsidering if she wanted to be an actress. “It really made me rethink what I wanted to do,” she explained to USA Today. We’re glad Bush has continued to forge ahead and find healthier work environments.
