Station 19 rounds out the trifecta of major firefighting shows. Station 19 has been a steady presence on ABC, Chicago Fire has been holding down the forte on NBC, and Fire Country has blown up over on CBS. Unfortunately, all three shows have been pushed back to 2024.

Station 19 was originally scheduled to return for its seventh season in September, but the writers and actors strike have forced the network to put it on the back burner until an agreement is made between the aforementioned groups and the studios.

When is Station 19 season 7 coming out? (Release date predictions)

Station 19 could air as early as January, which would allow time for season 7 to consist of roughly 12-13 episodes. It’s about half the normal amount, but given the constraints of time and people available to work on the show, it would be best case scenario.

There is, however, an alternative that would see Station 19 return in May 2024 instead. This would be tough on fans, as they would have to wait close to a year to get new episodes, but it is the most likely outcome given the current state of negotiations between the studios and the unions.

If Station 19 were to return in May, there would only be time air between 6-8 episodes, which is roughly a third of the usual amount. This would be due to the limited window of time in which the writers and actors would be given, and the limited window of air time that ABC would have before the network transitioned to its summer programming.

Ken Ziffren, a longtime entertainment attorney, told The Hollywood Reporter that the backlash from having to delay shows might put the studios in a situation in which they will be forced to negotiate.

“It’s questionable whether the lack of programming for us to view will incent either of the studios or SAG-AFTRA or the WGA to sit down again and keep going,” Ziffren said. “Given the reduction of episodes per season — which forgive me is not going to change — it may be better to go for doubles than home runs.” Hopefully we get an update soon.
