The cast of One Chicago has not been allowed to promote their respective shows due to the ongoing actors strike, but given that many of them are friends, and have been picketing on the frontlines of the strike in Hollywood, fans have been treated to some unexpected reunions.

The most fun one yet came on Tuesday, when Chicago PD star Marina Squerciati posted a photo alongside (former) Chicago Med stars Torrey DeVitto and Nick Gehlfuss on Instagram. The trio are often social in real life, especially Squerciati and DeVitto, and they were joined by several kittens!

Is Nick Gehlfuss leaving Chicago Med?

The caption on the Instagram post addressed both the inclusion of kittens and the actors strike. “What do we want?,” it read. “A fair SAG contract! When do we want it? MEOW!” The trio can also be seen wearing t-shirts with the text “SAG-AFTRA Strong.” SAG-AFTRA stands for Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

This is not the first time One Chicago cast members have spoken up about the strike. Chicago PD star Amy Morton talked about the importance of getting fair residuals during an interview with the Chicago Tribune, and Med star Jessy Schram posted a lengthy explanation as to why actors need to stick together, along with photos of her on the picket lines.

The photo is a reunion of sorts, because DeVitto and Gehlfuss left Chicago Med during the season 8 premiere. DeVitto’s character, Dr. Natalie Manning, had already moved to Seattle a season earlier but she returned to Gaffney Medical Center to help Gehlfuss’ Dr. Halstead make the transition. All signs point to the characters being gone for good.

Squierciati’s character, meanwhile, is in a much more precarious situation heading into Chicago PD season 11. She was forced to stand by while her co-parent and potential romantic partner, Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), was shot in the stomach and rushed to the hospital. It’s unclear whether he will pull through, though we hope to find out in the premiere.

As for the kittens, we hope they all find loving homes!
