Chicago Med season 9: Will Mekia Cox return as Robin Charles?

Mekia Cox played Dr. Charles’s daughter, Robin Charles, but hasn’t been seen since season 5. Could we see her return in Chicago Med season 9?

Over the years, we’ve learned a fair bit about Dr. Charles. It’s not all good stuff. He has a strained relationship with his daughter, Robin, played by Mekia Cox.

The storyline started to come out in the second season. We learned why they were estranged, and Cox showed off her skills with a powerful performance as she found out she was battling schizophrenia. She returned in season 4 when her mother needed treatment at the medical center, but the fifth season was the last time we saw her.

Of course, there are always questions about whether characters could return, even just for an episode. Will there be more from Robin Charles in Chicago Med season 9?

I wouldn’t expect Cox to return to the series, even just for ane episode. The actress is now a series regular on The Rookie, which was renewed for a sixth season. With The Rookie filming in LA and Chicago Med filming in Chicago, it would be difficult to make schedules fit.

There’s also the issue of the strike action right now. The delays continue, and that means there won’t be as many episodes to the seasons of any broadcast network show. The storylines will need to be brief and to the point, making it difficult to bring any other characters back in. After all, there’s a lot of ground to cover with just the main characters and the fact that the medical center is being sold again.

Could Cox return in the future? That may depend on schedules and the need for her character to even return.
